SUMiT Releases Purpose-Driven Single “Happenstance”

 

On August 8th, Hip-hop/Rap artist SUMiT released “Happenstance,” his 10th single of 2025, through SUMiT // DNT Entertainment with worldwide distribution by The Orchard, a Sony Music Entertainment company. Produced by Luis Cotto, known professionally as Jusslu, the track features a 1990s-inspired beat. It was mixed by Samuel Rosario and mastered by Fred Miller.

SUMiT described the song as a reflection on purpose and perseverance, calling it “a reminder to live in your purpose.” An official music video, directed by Dom Bruno, debuted alongside the single on SUMiT’s YouTube channel. Shot in urban locations and during South by Southwest (SXSW) 2025, the video incorporates narrative sequences that explore themes of resilience, self-worth and transformation.

Since his debut EP Stimulus: A Socially Distant EP in 2020, SUMiT has released more than 65 tracks and collaborated with artists including Fabolous, Sean Kingston, The Hoodies, OT the Real, Dave East, Millyz, Tyla Yaweh and Termanology.

He has performed in cities such as Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Providence, and has appeared on bills with Rick Ross, Soulja Boy, Cappella Grey and Jay Critch. In 2025, he opened for The LOX in Providence, performed with Dave East at Big Night Live in Boston, and appeared at SXSW.
