Multigenre artist brings R&B, hip-hop, pop and dance together for a bold new chapter

LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK— AUGUST 28th, 2026— Independent singer, songwriter and multigenre artist Wadena, also known as Denagirl, is officially stepping BACK OUTSIDE with her highly anticipated EP, Wadena vs. Wadena: Back Outside.

Blending R&B, hip-hop, pop and dance, the project showcases different sides of Wadena’s artistry while celebrating confidence, transformation, independence and creative freedom.

The EP’s release follows an unexpected pause in Wadena’s campaign after a family emergency required her to step away from music and social media.

“I had to step away, but I didn’t stop creating,” says Wadena. “I was hungry for this moment, and I knew I had to finish what I started. Now I’m back outside.”

BUILDING ON REAL MOMENTUM

Wadena isn’t returning to music empty-handed. Her independent catalog has already generated significant momentum.

“Smoke-n-Chill,” produced by Zaytoven, has spent more than 50 weeks on the Upcoming 100 music charts and has generated more than 150,000 streams. Meanwhile, “Glad I’m Over You (Hood Love)” has now reached 52 weeks on the Upcoming 100 music charts.

The new EP features another version of “Glad I’m Over You (Hood Love)” featuring Mr. Hood, giving listeners a fresh take on a song that has continued to connect with audiences.

A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY RELEASE

The EP also carries deep personal meaning for Wadena because she and her mother share the same birthday.

“We’re celebrating our birthday together while still grieving the loss of my dad,” Wadena says. “It’s emotional, but it also reminds me to celebrate life, family and the opportunity to keep moving forward.”

For Wadena, Back Outside represents resilience—turning a difficult chapter into motivation to continue creating.

As the music industry continues discussing emerging technology and creativity, Wadena believes new tools can help artists explore new possibilities while keeping the artist’s vision at the center.

“Music continues to evolve,” says Wadena. “Artists should be able to explore new tools that enhance creativity while keeping their own voice and vision at the heart of the work.”

Wadena is also calling for greater support among artists and creators.

“There’s room for everybody,” she says. “Established artists and independent artists can build their own lanes without tearing each other down. I want to see more collaboration, creativity, positive energy and peace.”
