Deezle Drops New Hit Single “My Boonoonos” ft. Hotboy Ronald

3x Grammy-winning producer, artist, and New Orleans legend Deezle just released his highly anticipated single “My Boonoonos” featuring Southern bounce icon Hotboy Ronald.

“My Boonoonos” fuses sultry R&B crooning with raw New Orleans bounce, turning a late-night passion into an explosive club anthem. Built on a driving bassline and slick synth chords, the track captures that electric tipping point where romantic devotion meets an uninhibited party atmosphere. Hotboy Ronald injects signature NOLA heat, crashing through with relentless hype ad-libs and a rapid-fire verse that instantly shifts the track into high gear. His gritty, call-and-response flow creates a dynamic push-and-pull against the silkier vocals, resulting in a high-energy hybrid that feels tailormade for Southern dance floors.

Deezle, born and raised in New Orleans, is an acclaimed producer and R&B artist who has worked with acclaimed artists such as Drake, J-Lo, Nicki Minaj, and Chris Brown to name a few. He co-produced Lil Wayne’s hit single “Lollipop” has since expanded his career with numerous collaborations and contributions across the music industry. He works with the nonprofits Son of A Saint, The Louis Armstrong Foundation, The Jazz and Heritage Foundation and the Trombone Shorty Foundation and has been featured on CNN, Yahoo News, Billboard, Vlad TV, BET, and more.

Deezle, born Darius Harrison, has taken the music game by storm with no plans on slowing down. A 3x Grammy Award-winning songwriter, producer, and engineer, as well as a recording artist in his own right, Deezle was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is best known for co-producing Lil Wayne’s single “Lollipop” and has worked with some of the biggest names across every genre of music, including Drake, J-Lo, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Master P, Donald Harrison Jr. (jazz), Bishop Paul S. Morton (gospel), Aqua Dolls (pop punk), and Rebirth Brass Band, among many others.

Deezle’s musical roots run deep into his New Orleans upbringing. As a young child, he was captivated watching his bass-playing uncle practice Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust,” and he knew early on that music was his calling. At nine years old, a local recruiter introduced him to the alto saxophone, an instrument he chose after hearing Grover Washington Jr.’s Winelight. By middle school he was marching and competing, and he fought for his spot at the legendary St. Augustine High School, where he ultimately achieved his dream of becoming drum major.

His passion for audio led him to experiment with early music recording using dual tape decks and a Casio keyboard. He initially pursued pre-med at Xavier University after high school, but his true passion pulled him back to music, and he transferred to the University of New Orleans to study vocal performance while self-teaching audio engineering and frequency manipulation through industry magazines.

His hands-on production journey accelerated when he landed an internship at a local studio, quickly advancing to assistant engineer and working sessions for heavyweights like Aaron Neville. It was during this period that he met jazz icon Big Chief Donald Harrison Jr., beginning a mentorship that has now spanned 30 years. Shortly after, a phone call from Cash Money Records’ Slim brought Deezle into the studio with Lil Wayne, launching a historic run in which he engineered and produced dozens of chart-topping hits, contributing to landmark projects including Tha Carter, Tha Carter II, Tha Carter III, and Birdman’s Fast Money.

Deezle boasts an impressive resume: a 3x Grammy win for his engineering, production, and songwriting work on Lil Wayne’s Carter III, 11 ASCAP Pop and R&B awards, a Billion Streams Award for his work on Drake’s hit “In My Feelings,” and dozens of other #1 and Top 40 hits, with his hands touching over 75 million records sold.

Deezle is no stranger to the stage, either. He’s performed alongside DJ Mastachi at the famed EDC Mexico festival in 2019, appeared on MTV Unplugged with rock band Molotov, and was featured on Latin singer Michelle Soifer’s single “Son Tus Ojos.”

Today, Harrison runs his own production company, Box Bangers Media. His production and engineering credits extend even further across genres, including a co-producing credit with Kanye West on “Let the Beat Build,” work with N’Dea Davenport of The Brand New Heavies and singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco, and contributions to Birdman’s Fast Money and Tha Carter II, alongside forays into rock and country records. Alongside producing hit records, Deezle has also contributed music, alongside Donald Harrison Jr., to film scores including Right to Return and Rachel Getting Married, directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Jonathan Demme.

In recent years, Deezle has stepped out from behind the boards to build a solo catalogue of his own. In January 2025, he released Deezle Presents The Box Bangers, a 15-track compilation on which he serves as lead performer, backed by a roster of collaborators from his label. He followed it with a run of singles and EPs through 2025, including the Surrender EP and “My Hands on Your Body,” a track press has pointed to as a genuine artist statement rather than a producer’s side project, signaling his transition from hitmaker to recording artist in his own right.
